MIAMI (AP) - Hurricane Danielle has become a Category 4 storm
far out over the Atlantic today as it heads in Bermuda's direction.
It threatens to bring dangerous rip currents to the U.S. East
Coast.
Danielle's maximum sustained winds were near 135 miles-per-hour
with some slight strengthening possible.
Danielle was located about 480 miles southeast of Bermuda and
moving north-northwest near 12 miles-per-hour. The hurricane's
center is forecast to pass well east of Bermuda tomorrow night. But
the National Hurricane Center in Miami says large waves and
dangerous surf conditions are expected in Bermuda ovt year,
some analays.
Swells from Danielle also will begin arriving on the East Coast
tomorrow and likely will cause rip currents through the weekend.
