Tropical Storm Andrea Officially forms in Gulf of Mexico.

A hurricane reconaisance flight has recently returned and has found a center of circulation in what is now Tropical Storm Andrea. Landfall is expected Thursday evening around the Big Bend of Florida.

The official National Hurricane Center will be released Wednesday evening. This system is not expected to have a major impact on Acadiana's weather, but will bring heavy rainfall to Florida.

The storm is not expected to hang around for long after landfall, and should be making its way through the Carolinas by Friday afternoon. Tropical Storm Warnings have been posted along Florida's West Coast from south of Tampa up to the Ochlocknee River, with Tropical Watches stretching from Flagler Beach in Florida all the way up to North Carolina. As I've stated before this is a good reminder that it is hurricane season and it is a good idea to always make sure you are prepared.
