Troopers seize 843 pounds of marijuana

ST. MARTINVILLE, La. (AP) - Troopers have arrested two people from Kingston, Jamaica, for possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
Louisiana State Police say troopers stopped a 1998 Freightliner tractor trailer at 5:45 a.m. Wednesday and, during the course of the stop, became suspicious about the cargo.
After getting permission to search the trailer from the driver, 33-year-old Anthony Senior, troopers found and seized 843 pounds of marijuana. Authorities say the drugs had an estimated street value of more than $2 million.
Both Senior and the passenger, 29-year-old Damian Jarrett, were booked into the St. Martin Parish Jail without incident.
