SULPHUR, La. - A 55-year-old Florida man has been arrested after a traffic stop led to the discovery of 44 pounds of marijuana.
Today, a state trooper assigned to Louisiana State Police Troop D stopped a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado for alleged traffic violations on Interstate 10 Eastbound west of Sulphur.
Troopers say Robert Earl Marlow of Leesburg, Florida, gave consent to search the vehicle he was driving. Authorities say troopers, along with K-9 "Hugo," located $66,000 worth of pot hidden in the vehicle.
Marlow was booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center for speeding, improper lane usage, and possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Bond was set at $30,200.
