Troopers Arrest Driver Involved in Hit and Run

Iberia Parish- Today, troopers with the Louisiana State Police Troop I arrested the driver involved in a fatal hit in run crash, which occurred on November 21, 2009, that left a New Iberia juvenile dead.
During the on going investigation into the hit and run death of thirteen year old Emile Williams, troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop I along with deputies from the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office, located a black Kia Optima which they believe was used in the crash. During the investigation troopers located the driver of the vehicle, twenty six year old Jamul Sparrow of New Iberia, LA. Troopers interviewed Sparrow who confessed to the incident.
Sparrow was arrested and booked into the Iberia Parish Correctional Center on the following charges one count Felony Hit and Run, one count Obstruction of Justice, one count Simple Criminal Damage to Property, and one count Driving Under Suspension.
This case remains under investigation. This is the 53rd fatal crash and the 60th fatality of the year.
