Trooper Runs Stop Sign, Causes Wreck

A Louisiana State Trooper caused a wreck today in Vermilion Parish. It happened at 6:30 a.m. at the corner of Highways 697 and 393.

State Police spokesman Stephen Hammons tells KATC that the officer ran a stop sign and collided with another vehicle. The trooper and other driver suffered minor injuries.

The crash is under investigation by State Police, no charges have been filed yet

The cruiser had to be towed away from the scene.
