Trial date set for for LPD officer accused of sexual assault

The trial for a former Lafayette police officer accused of sexual battery has been set for September.

Jackie Hagan is accused of malfeasance in office and two separate sexual assaults on women while on duty in 2011.

Testimony from the victim in the first sexual assault will be allowed in the second sexual assault trial, Judge Marilyn Castle ruled last month, according to minutes.

A pleadings hearing for both Hagan's cases is set for Sept. 11, and trial set for Sept. 15.

Hagan was charged in June 2012 with allegedly forcefully groping, fondling, and kissing a victim identified as "P.H." A year later, he was indicted for malfeasance in office and for groping a second victim identified as "H.E."
