A train hits a car in the Mallet Community in St. Landry Parish. It happened Wednesday around 4:15 p.m. Two men were taken to the hospital. The St. Landry Parish Sheriff's office says the train was headed west-bound and the vehicle was headed south on Chanteberry Road crossing the tracks to get onto Highway-190. 43-year old Lawrence Mallet did not stop and was hit by the train. He's charged with failure to yield and driving with a suspended license. There are no crossing arms at the site, just the "X" crossing sign on a post, to warn drivers.
