Train collision kills pastor and wife

LE MOYEN, La. (AP) - Authorities say the Rev. Fanley Thomas and his wife, Florence, of Mamou, were killed when their car was hit by a train near St. James Baptist Church, where Fanley Thomas served
as pastor.
The St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office received a call shortly after 7 a.m. Sunday, notifying them that a vehicle had been struck by a train at a crossing on U.S. Highway 71 in the north St. Landry
Parish two of LeMoyen.
Sheriff's office spokesman Jimmy Darbonne told The Daily World that Thomas and his wife were killed instantly Darbonne said the car in which they were riding burst into flames after the impact.
