The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has confirmed that a tornado did touch down this morning in Iberia Parish. The NWS says, an EF-1 tornado about 50 yards wide and 5 miles long touched down around 5:51 this morning near Neco Town Road in New Iberia. The tornado pushed 3 single-wide mobile homes off their pilings and peeled part of metal roofs or walls off of 6 other mobile home. The tornado then touched down again on Orange Grove Ave. where it ribbed a large section of a barn roof off and destroyed several outbuildings. It's final damage location was on Cajun Dr. where it knocked one mobile home off its pilings and damaged several other mobile home, carports, and outbuildings. The NWS says no injuries were reported.
