Two year old, Zyri Alfred drowned in a neighbor's swimming pool in Jeanerette.
This happened around three o'clock, monday afternoon when the child's family was together celebrating the 4th of July.
Family members say the minutes leading up to Zyri's death happened so fast.
Within 20 minutes, he wandered away, they ran a searched and found him.
The child was found in the pool face down, under a float.
Zyri is his parents only child.
His great grandmother says they had a close relationship.
"He'll come over my house every single day," said Cornelia Engleton
Jeanerette Police say they'll have autopsy results Wednesday.
After the investigation is complete they'll turn over evidence to the district attorney who will decide if someone will be charged with the child's death.
