Some of us do it every year: wait until the last minute to get all the Christmas shopping in but was this really the plan?
The time was ticking! And the list isn't getting any shorter.
"I got about three more," Justin Nathan said. "I plan to knock them out in one store."
Nathan, like hundreds of people, packed the mall before it closed for the weekend.
Some, carrying a half a dozen bags with more stops to go.
At the same time, Santa's taking some last pictures before heading out for the night. Sounds busy, right?
So, why do we wait until the last minute every year?
"It's the only way to go," Amy Rivet said. "I've been shopping and shopping and shopping but always at the last minute..."
Although some stores like Toys R Us stayed open 24-7 in the days leading up to Christmas, Rivet used every last second to check off her gift list, but she wasn't the only one.
Rivet may actually be one of the few women waiting until the last minute but for the guys, these last few hours are the best hours to shop.
"I don't know about the others." Nathan says, "there's some last minute sales."
Despite these "sales":
"They're always last minute shoppers," Rivet said with a laugh.
If you forgot a gift, you may not be completely out of luck. Some drug stores like CVS and Walgreen's will be open on Christmas Day and dollar stores may also have hours this holiday weekend.
