Tiger Mart on LA 26 in Lake Arthur robbed

At approximately 8:30 pm on Thursday, November 5, 2009, a male in a blue jumpsuit walked in the front door of Tiger Mart on LA 26 in Lake Arthur. He was wearing a bandanna tied around his face and bags on his shoes. He pointed a handgun at the cashier and said "give me the money." He jumped over the counter and again demanded the money while pointing the gun at her. He started grabbing the money and then fled the store. A 911 call was made by the second cashier and deputies responded. Deputies and investigators started tracking suspect. Investigators were led to an area and located a subject identified as Anthony Caro, III, W/M 08/23/91 from Lacour Street in Lake Arthur. After interrogation, investigators located and recovered the money, checks, gun, jumpsuit, and bandanna. Cash taken was in excess of $500.

Caro was booked into the Jefferson Davis Parish Jail on charges of Armed Robbery and Battery on a Police Officer. Caro also had an outstanding Contempt of Court Warrant for non-appearance in October on a charges of Possession of Marijuana, Theft, Possession of Stolen Things, and Simple Burglary.
