The New Orleans Bowl is almost two weeks away, and UL has already sold more than 14,000 tickets. According to UL Athletics Ticket Manager Matt Casbon, the university's original allotment of tickets was just under 13,000, but New Orleans Bowl officials are giving the university more tickets to sell as they are needed. Casbon says those who have already ordered tickets may pick them up beginning Monday morning at 10:00 if they have received a phone call saying their tickets are ready.
Scott Wetherbee, Director of Marketing and Ticket Operations at East Carolina University, says the Pirates have sold only 1,800 tickets so far, but he says many fans are still making arrangements to make the trip to New Orleans. Wetherbee says ECU is hoping for at least 5,000 Pirate supporters to attend the bowl game.
Both Casbon and Weatherbee say they will have more definitive ticket sales totals early next week.
