SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - Some people go to the State Fair of
Louisiana for the thrill of the rides. Others go for the
adventurous cuisine.
This year's heart attack waiting to happen is the Krispy Kreme
burger, a ground-beef patty sandwiched between two doughnuts. Those
really want to push the limits can add bacon and cheese.
Chris Giordano, president and general manager of the State Fair
of Louisiana, tells The Times of Shreveport that the 104th year of
the fair set an opening-day record Thursday with almost 40,000
people.
The fair runs through Nov. 7 in Shreveport.
