Three Officers Shot; One Dead following a Shooting in St. Mary Parish

Troopers say, officers in St. Mary Parish were responding to a report of a fire this morning in Charenton, near the casino. When they arrived on scene they found a suspect armed with a gun. Three officers were shot. Two have been transferred to the hospital with critical injures. One officer is in a Lafayette hospital and the other in New Orleans. The third officer died as a result of his injuries. The suspect is in custody.
