BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - A business development trade magazine
says new economic projects for Louisiana and North Carolina headed
its list of annual award winners.
Each state had three projects that made the list compiled by
Trade & Industry Development.
The three winners in Louisiana included the Nucor Corp.
steelmaking project in Convent that could eventually employ 1,250
people if all five phases are built.
Other projects include Blade Dynamics in New Orleans, which is
expected to eventually employ 600. That company is locating at the
NASA Michoud Assembly Facility, which lost the space shuttle
Also receiving an award was the DG Foods plant in Bastrop, which
will have 317 jobs.
