Thousands Without Power Due to Thunderstorms

The strong line of thunderstorms that tore through Acadiana earlier knocked out power to nearly forty five hundred Slemco customers.

Representatives say that power has been restored in some areas, but twenty two hundred are still without power in the Washington and Eunice area.

Witnesses tell Slemco that a possible tornado hit one of their utility poles and they are not sure when power will fully be restored.
