Thomas Clements, a small business owner from Lafayette, LA, announced his intent to run for U.S. Senate in 2014 today in Independence, LA. Clements is the CEO and Owner of Oilfield CNC Machining in Broussard, LA.
"I stand for personal responsibility, limited government and respect for life and the United States Constitution. I'm not afraid to stand up for our rights and you should not be afraid either," says Clements.
Thomas, who was joined by his wife to make his announcement Saturday, fears that Americans are losing their ability to live out the American Dream. "I will fight for you in the U.S. Senate. So that our American Dreams will last forever," he exclaimed.
He is proud of his military heritage and wants to continue fighting for the freedom he has received from our nation's military. Thomas is a member of the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce and the National Rifle Association of America.
"It is fitting that I chose Independence, Louisiana as my announcement site and that I do this on the anniversary of a day that lives in infamy, December 7th, 1941, when Pearl Harbor was violently attacked without warning. I can think of no better way to honor the men and women who have sacrificed their lives for our freedoms than to offer myself in public service, and by doing so, to keep alive the hopes and dreams of all those valiant Americans throughout history who have fought to make America the greatest nation on the globe," he concluded.
