Third Circuit Denies Atchafalaya Basin Bridge Jumper

The Third Circuit Court of Appeals has denied Mark Savoy's appeal. Savoy kidnapped his estranged wife and children from their home in Eunice in 2006 and led police on a cross-parish chase before jumping off of the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge to elude capture. He appealed to the Third Circuit claiming there were errors during his trial.
Savoy is sentenced to twelve years on the kidnapping conviction and two years on the aggravated flight from an officer conviction.
