RUSTON, La. (AP) - Police say around $2,600 worth of electronics were stolen from several dorm rooms during a freshman orientation at Louisiana Tech University.
Campus Police Chief Randall Hermes tells The News-Star the thefts occurred Wednesday night in at least four separate dorm rooms in Adams Hall, an all-female residence hall, during an orientation for potential honors students.
Hermes says a couple of small laptops valued at $250 each were taken in addition to less than a $100 in cash and a Mac laptop valued at $2,200.
He says there were no signs of forced entry into the dorm rooms and that an electronic access key is required to enter the dorm building.
