For their final meeting of the year, during the season of giving, the705 had a special opportunity to help the Lafayette Catholic Service Center (LCSC) fulfill their mission of promoting human dignity.
The group encouraged members and guests to come and fill the stomachs, hear the stories, and warm the hearts of Acadiana's hungry, poor and homeless and over 20 folks participated.
Operating a soup kitchen, an emergency financial services office, a hygiene facility, a re-housing program and six shelter/housing programs for homeless men, women, children and veterans the Lafayette Catholic Service Centers reach thousands in need each year.
705 President Zach Barker said that "Tonight was one of the most meaningful and exceptional 705 meetings I have ever been to." With a membership drive currently underway he stressed "If you are truly looking to make an impact as a young person in Lafayette... I highly encourage you to give this group a chance or for those who have been before, a second chance."
Another 705 member, Anita Ready Begnaud was also moved by her experience stating "I am so compelled by the work CSC is doing for the homeless and hungry in our community!"
