The Iberia Performing Arts League Announces Auditions for "A Nice Family Gathering"

AUDITIONS for IPAL's Holiday PRODUCTION
"A Nice Family Gathering"

Auditions for the Iberia Performing Arts League's Holiday production "A Nice Family Gathering" will be held Saturday, Oct 5 and Sunday, October 6 from 2pm - 4pm. Auditions will be held at the Essanee Theatre, 126 Iberia Street, New Iberia. This comedy/drama has a cast of four men and three women. The two-act play is scheduled to open December 5 and close December 15 and will run Thursdays thru Sundays.
A Nice Family Gathering is a comedy about a family's first Thanksgiving dinner after the death of their father. The hilarity begins as Dad shows up as a ghost intent on telling his family those things that he failed to mention before moving on; however, only one person can see him. This one son, Carl, is stuck between a rock and a hard place. Should he follow the whims of his father's ghost, or should he refuse, effectively earning revenge for all of his father's years of neglect? Throw in the fact that Mom has invited a date to dinner, angering her unseen late husband, and you've got a barrel of laughs just waiting to be unleashed. Male characters include Carl, the neglected younger son who can see his father's ghost (30's-40's), Dad, the quick witted late father of the Lundeen family (50+), Michael, the prideful and successful older son (30's-40's), and Jerry, Mom's quick witted date. (50+). Female characters are Mom (the forgetful and confused mother of the Lundeen family (50+), Jill, Michael's emotional wife wishing for children (20's-30's) and Stacey, the neglected baby of the family who can almost sense her father's presence (20's-30's)
