This Saturday the Academy of Interactive Entertainment will hold an open house for summer programs and fall enrollment. AIE offers courses designed to get you started in game development, 3D animation, programming and visual effects. At the open house professors will demonstrate some of the courses offered at AIE.
"The fact that I'm guaranteed a job after college and that I love doing modeling, animating since high schoo," said Art & Animation Student Aaron Comeaux.
Aaron Comeaux an art and animation student says choosing The Academy of Interactive Entertainment was the best decision of his life. After graduation he plans to work for a known video game studio.
"It's ben great people here are absolutely amazing. They're all fun to work with and we all help each other," said Comeaux.
AIE offers a two year program in game and art design, 3D animation and game programming. Not only is the degree program unique to this area, it's unique to the whole country. There are only two colleges like this one in the U.S.
"It's a really unique opportunity not only for Lafayette but for the state of Louisiana to get an actual education is video game design," said Communications Coordinator Josh Brannen.
Art instructor Adam Folse says anything students learn at AIE can be used for visual effects in movies and video games.
"I'm going to be excited once they get out there and start working cause that's kind of the whole reward for me that I taught them enough where they can get a job out of it," said Art Instructor Adam Folse.
