Saturday will be a perfect day to be outdoors and an even better day for a festival. It's 3rd Annual Holi Festival tomorrow at Girard Park, hosted by the Acadiana Indian Association.
Holi is a Hindu Holiday to mark the beginning of spring. This festival is also known as the Indian Festival of Colors. People can look forward to plenty of music, dancing, food and fun for all. Organizers say if you plan to attend, wear white because you will be covered in paint but they say it's all fun and in spirit of the celebration.
"We are really excited this year, we have a lot costume performances and over 1,000 pounds of colors which is almost four times the amount we got from last year. People can look for spicy food again as well and definitely a lot of fun and excitement
said," Nishant Puri President of the Acadiana Indian Association.
The Holi Festival is free and open to the public. This event starts at 11a.m. and goes until 3p.m. tomorrow in Girard Park.
