The 23rd Annual Krewe of Andalusia rolled through the streets of New Iberia, the first of many parades to come.

"Happy Mardi Gras!"

"It's fun and it's exciting," said 9-year-old Katelyn Trantham.

And New Iberia didn't disappoint.

"As far as the beads, the people, the culture, everybody looks forward to this big time," said Danny Boudreaux.

Bands, beads, floats, dancers and party-goers. Everything you need for a festive Mardi Gras parade.

"We all come out, from my grandmother all the way to the babies," said Dayatra Williams. "We just love to have a good time."

And for Mardi Gras rookies like myself, some good advice...

"Just duck when they throw the beads and the cups, or get ready to catch them, that's it," said Boudreaux.

The Krewe de Rio parade rolls tomorrow. Starting at Pontiac Point at 6:30 and ending at the Cajun Field.
