Thanksgiving Shopping Rush

There's not much time left to prepare the feast for Thanksgiving gatherings. The stores were packed on Wednesday. "We've been working all week to get ready for today," said Greg Nick, owner of Logan Farms.
At least 2-thousand people filtered into the shop to get their hams and turkeys. It's so popular, the store hired two officers to keep things chaos-free. They closed their doors at six o'clock for the holiday.
But the grocery stores are staying open. Albertson's on Johnston Street is keeping late hours to accommodate all the crowds. They're staying open until Midnight on Thanksgiving eve. "We are extremely busy, being the day before Thanksgiving, very busy," said clerk Lori Daigle.
They're ready for shoppers like Rebecca Landry, who has to buy enough food to feed a large family this year. "We have about 18 people coming, out of town family, they finally made it," said Landry. "Bring on the potato salad and the rice dressing," she said.
Many Lafayette stores including Winn Dixie and Albertsons are open Thanksgiving day until four o'clock. Walmart Supercenter are open all day, if you have last minute needs.
