NEW ORLEANS (AP) - The Pentagon says two New Orleans-area companies have won Army contracts worth a total of $44 million.
It says Textron Land and Marine Systems of New Orleans won a foreign sales contract worth up to $31.6 million to provide advanced armored personnel carriers and related services for the nation of Colombia. The Army Contracting Command out of Warren, Mich., solicited the contract, and Textron was the only company asked to bid.
The statement emailed Thursday also says Weeks Marine Inc., of Covington, won an Army corps of Engineers dredging contract worth up to $12.7 million. That one's for work in West Baton Rouge, West Feliciana, St. Martin and St. Mary parishes. The Pentagon says two other companies bid on the contract.
