Texas woman accused of posing as high school sophomore

A Longview, Texas, woman is behind bars after she allegedly posed as a high school sophomore and attended classes.

KLTV reports that 31-year-old Charity Anne Johnson was enrolled at the New Life Christian School. School officials say Johnson had been enrolled at the school for two years.

Johnson was reportedly taken in by a local family after claiming she had been abused by her biological father. Johnson allegedly told the family that she was 15 and that her name was "Charity Stevens."

The family took Johnson into its home and went to the school with her to enroll her in classes.

Police say they were called after the family suspected Johnson was using a fake identity.

Johnson is charged with failure to identify and giving false information. She is in jail on $500 bond.
