Texas Man Charged in Carencro Hit-and-Run

A Beaumont man is in the Lafayette jail after leading Carencro police on a chase following a hit-and-run. Officials say 60-year-old Paul Montgomery struck a vehicle at the corner of Gloria Switch and University and drove away. Officers spotted the car shortly afterward and tried to pull over Montgomery. That's when they say he engaged them in a pursuit before he finally stopped without incident.
Montgomery is charged with hit-and-run driving, resisting an officer by flight, no driver's license, and disobeying a traffic control device.
