With Tuesday's announcement of the 2012 All-Southeastern Conference baseball teams, Taylor Dugas capped off his Alabama career with all-conference honors. Dugas garnered first team All-SEC and all-defensive team recognition, while Moore was selected to the SEC All-Freshman Team as an outfielder.
With his All-SEC selection as a senior, Dugas earns his third straight all-conference team award, while making his second appearance on the All-SEC first team. In 2012, Dugas posted a team-high .343 average, which was 10th in the SEC, while starting all 55 games in center field, and as the team's lead-off hitter. Dugas also led the team with 41 runs scored, 71 hits, 12 doubles, seven triples (second in the SEC), 24 walks, and was hit by a pitch 18 times.
One of the premier leadoff hitters in the country, Dugas reached base safely in 53-of-55 games, which included a streak of 34 games to open the season. Dugas finished the season as the Crimson Tide's all-time leader in career hits (334), singles (235), doubles (67), and triples (18). He led the team with 23 multiple-hit games, which included a team-best five three-hit performances.
En route to his second straight selection to the SEC All-Defensive Team, Dugas made just one error in center field to post a .992 fielding percentage in 131 chances in 2012. Dugas did not make an error during conference play, and finished the season without on error in the final 43 games.
