Terrebonne law enforcement agencies get new vest

HOUMA, La. (AP) - Maritime technology firm Beier Radio has donated seven bulletproof vests to Terrebonne Parish law enforcement agencies/

Keith Gallicio, president of the Houma chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police, tells The Courier his group contacted the company at the right time.

One of the fraternity's promoters called Beier Radio about donating money and coincidentally the company was looking for a local group to contribute to.

The initial donation included just two vests, one for the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office and one for Houma Police Department. After picking up the first vests in early June, Gallicio said the sheriff's office realized its need to update its safety equipment.

Gallicio called Beier to request five more vests for the sheriff's office and within weeks they arrived.
