Scattered storms that moved over the western sections late last night have drifted southward toward the coast and just a few light rain showers are left over. Most of the region will start the day rain free with high humidity and mild temperatures. Areas where rain fell have temperatures in the low 70s this morning, while parts of Acadiana that missed out on the rain is warmer in the mid to upper 70s.
Expect partly to mostly cloudy skies today as an upper level trough continues to move westward and weaken. High pressure to our west is expected to strengthen over the next few days helping to suppress the rain chances into the weekend.
Temperatures will remain near normal with highs in the low 90s and lows in the mid 70s. It will stay warm over the weekend and most of next week. Perhaps a bit of a pattern shift bringing another summer cool front into the area late next week. Stay tuned.
