After freezing temperatures around 30 degrees Sunday morning gusty southerly winds warmed Acadiana rapidly into the lower 70s Monday afternoon. Another front on the way Tuesday will bring our temperatures back down to below normal readings mid-week.
Mostly cloudy skies with a slight chance of passing shower is in the forecast through midday Tuesday with the front crossing the area and clearing conditions expected for the latter of the afternoon.
Highs Tuesday will be in the mid-upper 60s but will cool quickly again behind gusty northwest winds Tuesday night. Lows will drop into the upper 30s to lower 40s for Wednesday morning.
Fair and cool conditions are expected Wednesday with partly cloudy and milder conditions expected by the latter part of the week.
Next weekend is looking breezy and mild with highs in the low-mid 70s and plenty of clouds.
The next significant weather system could bring some shower/thunderstorm activity to the area by late Sunday with next Monday appearing to be the most active for storms.
