Teens sentenced in grave desecrations

Three teenagers who damaged more than 24 graves and headstones at three cemeteries in Jeff Davis Parish are sentenced to three years probation, and they must pay restitution. Sebastian Abshire, 19, Dacota Miguez, 17, and Joselyn Mire, 19, must pay one-third of $48,233 to the families. In addition, they must serve 100 hours of community service which will involve cleaning and maintaining graves at parish cemeteries. Among other conditions, the trio must write apology letters to the victims and pay several fines, including a $350 fine plus court costs.
