A Lake Charles teenager is accused of stealing thousands of dollars in equipment from the Southland Airport in Carlyss.
On December 23, Calcasieu Parish deputies were told that numerous pairs of aviation headsets, valued at over $5,000, cell phones, iPads and other items were stolen from several pilots.
Detectives say they questioned ex-employee 18-year-old who allegedly confessed to stealing several items including the aviation headsets. Deputies day Baker was released to assist detectives in retrieving some of the stolen items, but failed to return and did not answer detectives calls.
An arrest warrant was issued for Bakern and on January 9th, Baker was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with theft over $1,500.
His bond is still pending.
Three pair of stolen aviation headsets were recovered by detectives and returned to the victims.
