An Abbeville middle school student is asking his community for help. 14-year-old Tyler Duhon lost a necklace on the way to school Monday morning. But this wasn't any ordinary piece of jewelry.
It contains the ashes of his grandfather, David Lucquette, who died last month. In all, ten family members have the special necklaces.
"Any time you're feeling depressed, lonely, upset, sad, you just grab it and you know that he's with you all the time," said Crystal Duhon, Tyler's mother.
Tyler said since losing it he's been extremely upset, and cannot put a value on the necklace. Now all he wants is to have it back.
"I'm trying to find it really bad, I go to sleep, I wake up, I go to class crying," said Tyler.
The Duhons are offering a cash reward for the necklace. If found, bring the necklace to the front office of JH Williams Middle School or call (337) 517-7534.
