Teen Hit While Waiting at Bus Stop

Press Release: On Monday September 20, 2010 at approximately 5:47am Lafayette Sheriff's Office Deputies responded to an accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian, in the 1000 Block of Janvier Road. Upon arrival deputies discovered that a 2000 Toyota Corolla driven by 48 year old Marc Broussard veered off the right side of the road, the driver then overcompensated and crossed the roadway to the other side and stuck a 15 year old female as she was walking on the side of the road to her bus stop. The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital due to her injuries and is listed in stable condition. The driver tested negative for any type of chemical or alcohol impairment but was issued a citation for Careless Operation.
