Teen held after gun fired at school; no injuries

A 13-year-old male student was taken into custody after a handgun was fired inside a bathroom at a junior high school in Monroe.
The gunshot was fired Monday morning at Carroll Junior High. Monroe Police spokesman Mark Johnson said police believe four students were in the bathroom when the gun was fired once into the ceiling, causing minor damage.
Police told KNOE television that the gun had been taken from the home of the boy's grandparent, without the grandparent's knowledge. No students were injured in the incident. Parents were notified and classes resumed.
