NAPOLEONVILLE, La. (AP) - A state district judge has ruled that Assumption Parish sheriff's investigators had probable cause to arrest a 15-year-old Dorseyville boy on a manslaughter count in a March 8 fatal stabbing of another teen.
The Advocate reports Wednesday's ruling by Judge Ralph Tureau means the teen will remain at the St. James Youth Center near Donaldsonville while he awaits a grand jury proceeding on Monday.
A ninth-grader at Assumption High School was arrested in the stabbing death of a 10th-grade classmate and neighbor.
Assumption Parish Sheriff Mike Waguespack identified the victim as 15-year-old Eric Myles Jr.
