There will be a fundraiser for a Port Barre teen that has bone cancer on May 18, 2013 at 9:00 am at Veterans Park in Port Barre.
There will be a day of music, food & fun, while supporting a great cause.
Paul Brent Cortez is a 16-year-old from Port Barre. In June of 2012 he was diagnosed with Ostersarcoma, bone cancer, at the age of 15. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleasns. He endured a 9 hour limb salvage surgery to remove the tumor and save his leg. He will go through many months of physical therapy to regain full use of his leg.
Live music featuring: Rebel Band, Lil' Wayne & The Same Old Two-Step, One Trick Pony, Eric Goutreaux, Geno Delafose & French Roclin' Boogie, Brandon Maddox, and Charlie Soileau with DJ Cajun Express.
Wild game cook-off 1st, 2nd and 3rd place and a beer drinking contest.
There will be a silent auction with live auction featuring Skeeter Ray to start at 1:30pm.
No ice chest allowed; beer will be sold. Also available will be T-shirts, Team Paul bracelets and koozies will also be sold.
