Lafayette Teachers Investigated For Battery

KATC has learned Lafayette Police are investigating two cases in the parish in which teachers may have injured students.

Investigators say a Lafayette Middle School teacher, 22-year-old John Breaux, is accused of pushing a 13-year-old student over a desk, resulting in the student HURT his leg. He has been charged with 2nd degree battery.

In another case, police charged Michael Rinberger today with simple battery. Officers say the Northside High teacher is accused of hitting a student in the face with a shoe.
