The family of a teacher, whose decomposed body was found in her submerged car last month, has established a scholarship in her name through the United Negro College Fund.
To honor Terrilynn Monette's memory and passion to affect the lives of youth through education, her family said in a news release that it has set up the Terrilynn Monette Scholarship Fund.
They said Monette, who earned a "Teacher of the Year" nomination in her district, "changed the lives of dozens of students and helped them to realize the limitlessness of their own potential."
Donations to the fund can be sent to the UNCF, 1100 Poydras Street, Suite 1400, New Orleans, 70163.
