Teacher fired after claims 3rd-graders had sex

TALLULAH, La. (AP) - Officials say a Tallulah Elementary School teacher has been fired after she was in the classroom while two third-graders allegedly had oral sex under a table.
Madison Parish School Superintendent Lisa Wilmore tells The News-Star last week's incident was investigated by the school's principal.
Wilmore concurred with the principal's recommendation that the third-grade teacher be dismissed and the children counseled after a sexual incident reportedly occurred in class.
Wilmore also tells the newspaper a Madison Parish High School teacher has been placed on leave with pay pending the results of an investigation into possible substance abuse by the teacher while on the job.
The teachers were not identified.
