Taco Bell parking lot shooting

Early Saturday, August 16, Lafayette Police responded to shots fired in the 2400 block of West Congress Street.

When officers arrived to the parking lot of Taco Bell, two male victims said they were sitting in their vehicle when two suspects in the parking lot called for them to exit the vehicle and fight.

As the victims attempted to drive away, one of the suspects began firing numerous times at the vehicle. The vehicle and a nearby building were struck by the gunfire. The victims were not injured.

The suspects, two black males, fled the area in a vehicle.

Detectives with the Lafayette Police Department are encouraging anyone with information about the shootings to call Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
