A St. Landry Parish man convicted of murder in 1973 when he was 15 years old will have to wait another month before his sentence is reconsidered.
A district judge reset the hearing for Larry Sylvester until May 28.
Sylvester was sentenced to life in prison for shooting and killing another person.
Last year, the Supreme Court ruled in MILLER V. ALABAMA that life sentences for juveniles violated the Eight Amendment's prohibition of cruel and unusual punishment, requiring courts to revisit cases in which juveniles were sentenced to life imprisonment.
