A Youngsville neighborhood spent four hours on lockdown Sunday. Neighbors on Vermillion Circle were told to stay inside, while the roads around the neighborhood was blocked off.

The Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office says a man was holed up inside his trailer with weapons. His mother chose to remain inside with him.

The standoff ended just after four o'clock after the SWAT team used tear gas to get him out. Neighbors finally came out after hearing the commotion. "A few gunshots something going off, went out here to check it out you got SWAT and everything out here and I seen where they were taking that fellow out in a stretcher," said Rudy Silvas.

The suspect is now in custody. He was wanted on a warrant out of Broussard.
