Suspected Drug Dealer First Leads Police in Chase Before Police Find Him Hiding in Nearby Attic

Agents with the Vermilion and Municipal Narcotics Task force along with Abbeville Narcotics agents were involved in a short chase Monday afternoon after receiving information about possible illicit narcotics being sold.

According to Sheriff Mike Couvillon agents received a tip that Colby Comeaux was in possession of a large amount of crack cocaine. Officers located Comeaux while he was inside of a vehicle parked on Vernon St. in Abbeville La. Upon officers exiting their units and identifying themselves Comeaux started the vehicle; drove through a yard and began to flee in the vehicle.
Agents followed Comeaux and witnessed him jump from the vehicle and run into a home on S. Miles St. in Abbeville while agents began to chase him on foot. Agents found Comeaux hiding in an attic and also found in his possession several rocks of suspected crack cocaine. It is believed that Comeaux was able to get rid of some of the suspected crack cocaine as he was fleeing.
Comeaux, who resides on S. Miles St. Abbeville La was taken into custody and booked on possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine. Bond was set at $20,000.00
