Suspect wanted, two robbed near McKinley Street area

Victims Robbed Walking to Vehicle


On November 19, 2009, at approximately 12:30 am, two victims were leaving the McKinley Street area and walking to their parked car on Taft Street when they were approached by a black male suspect. The suspect produced a handgun and demanded the victim's valuables. Both victims turned over their wallets to the suspect. The suspect fled the area in an unknown direction. The victims, a 20 year old male of Lafayette and an 18 year old male of Fort Worth, Texas, returned to a residence in Lafayette and then contacted the police. The suspect is described as a black male with black and gold dreadlocs wearing a black hooded jacket.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the suspect to call the Lafayette Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
