A Lake Charles man is charged with attempted second-degree murder in connection with a shooting at a Thursday night candlelight vigil.
Police say 22-year-old Andre Jordan Broussard opened fire in McMillan Park during a vigil for three victims of a 2013 triple homicide in that same park. According to investigators, the shooting took place following an argument.
One person was shot and transported by a bystander to a local hospital. Police say that victim was still in emergency surgery as of 2:30 a.m.
A second victim was grazed by a bullet.
Broussard surrendered to police this morning and remains in jail on $350,000 bond.
